When completed, the Oyasato-yakata building-complex will be a grand structure with sixty-eight interconnected wings, built on a periphery of a quadrangle centering around the Jiba and measuring 8 cho (872 meters) on each side. This construction is based on the following words of Oyasama: "The divine Residence will become eight cho square" (Anecdotes of Oyasama, no. 93).

The purpose of constructing this building-complex is to build a model of the Joyous Life in the Home of the Parent in order that this exemplary model may help realize the Joyous Life World so desired by God the Parent and Oyasama. The construction has been under way since 1954. Thus far, twenty-five wings have been completed. They are used for such purposes as the Besseki Lecture Hall, Department of Doctrine and Historical Materials, Tenri Seminary, Tenri University, Shuyoka (Spiritual Development Course), and Ikoi-no-Ie Hospital, all of which are designed to contribute to the realization of the Joyous Life.
